Wolfgang Steiner
Wolfgang Steiner († 2024) was a German painter and printmaker and a long-standing member of the Künstlerhaus Ulm / BBK Ulm. After a career in the graphic arts he became a full-time artist in 1990. His oeuvre includes paintings, prints and mixed-media works in which areas of colour, line and structure are brought into a finely tuned balance. Numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad as well as public and private acquisitions underline his artistic importance.
Christoph Hohler
Christoph Hohler, born in Basel in 1961, first trained in the printing trade before studying illustration at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. Since 1988 he has been working as a freelance artist in France. The human figure lies at the centre of his work – often in large formats, with a powerful physical presence and intensive impasto handling of paint. His paintings oscillate between figuration and abstraction and create a strong emotional impact. Exhibitions in France, Germany and Switzerland have brought his work to a wider audience.
Bernhard Vogel
Bernhard Vogel, born in Salzburg in 1961, is regarded as one of Austria’s leading contemporary watercolourists. Since 1987 he has worked as an independent artist. His cityscapes and architectural motifs are realised in multi-layered watercolours, etchings and mixed-media works. Light, movement and atmosphere are transformed into vibrant colour compositions that make his work instantly recognisable. In addition to numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, Vogel shares his expertise in workshops and painting trips and has published several books.
Paul Wunderlich
Paul Wunderlich (1927–2010) was born in Eberswalde and is regarded as one of the key representatives of Fantastic Realism and Neo-Surrealism. After studying graphic art at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg he later taught there as a professor. He gained international recognition above all for his masterly lithographs and etchings. Wunderlich’s imagery is characterised by myths, symbols and often erotic undertones; delicate lines meet carefully tuned colour harmonies. Besides his graphic work he created paintings and sculptures which today can be found in major museums and collections worldwide.
